7 months away!!!

Okay, yes, I know, seven months is a very long time away. But at the same time, in ONLY 7 months, I will be a married woman! woo-stinkin-hoo. With that being said, I'm kind of obsessed with all things wedding right now. Lets see how long that will last :). But more than that, I found some wedding detail pictures from a great photographer and I'm kind of obsessed.

These are all from Jessica Hicks. And there are more great pictures on her blog.
Enjoy!!

the 'butt' inspiration

Okay, So I am officially obsessed with So You Think You Can Dance, and fell in love with this dance.

So, I was parusing through one of my favorite blogs The White Aisle, and she fell in love with it too!! She created an invitation and inspiration board from the dance, which I was really really impressed with.

Aren't you in love too???

The Great Wedding Shoe Debate

this blog is brought to you by Julie.
How many wedding shoe options does one bride-to-be need? In my case, that would be 3. And I fully intend to wear all 3 pairs at some point on my wedding day. Why, you ask? Because: 1) Some people have 3 dresses, I'm choosing only 1 (very reasonably priced thankyouverymuch) dress, so why not have multiple shoe options; 2) They are all so freaking cute, I can't imagine NOT wearing any of them; 3) I'm the bride.

Behold the cuteness:

Option 1 (my original dream shoes):

(swoon)
Pros: They are very similar to the Manolo's Carrie Bradshaw wore in Sex & the City. I l-o-v-e them.
Cons: Although they are dang cute, they aren't the most comfortable of shoes, which normally wouldn't bother me, but I would like for my feet to not be throbbing on my wedding day.
Role in the wedding: These will be worn maybe in some pre-wedding pics, perhaps to the rehearsal dinner...who knows...but they WILL be worn.

Option 2 (everything I didn't know I loved):

Oh how I love you, Max Studio.
Pros: They are adorable, make me just the right height, and are oh-so-comfortable (bonus!)
Cons: They aren't pink, but I'm OK with that.
Role in the wedding: These will be worn for the remaining pre-ceremony pics, and throughout the ceremony as well as during our reception entrance and first dance (probably).

Option 3 (off and on):

Get this party started.
Pros: Hello...gold. sparkle. flats! And, if that's not enough, they come in their own gold sparkle bag. Steve Madden, you? Are a genius.
Cons: None.
Role in the wedding: These are my dancing shoes, duh! WHOOHOO!

Now do you see why a girl needs 3 shoe options?
In the words of the great author, Dixie Cash, "Don't Come Between Me & My Shoes" (on sale now at your local Target).

Thank you Jordan for letting me update your blog. :)

His and Hers Sheets

This is one of those things that made me laugh out loud when I found it. His and Hers sheets. I think its a genius idea!! The set is a little pricey, with a $69.99 price tag. But I think these would be a great way to keep the peace when you are sleeping next to a bed hog.

I'd buy it. Would you?

The Candy Bar

This is where eye candy meets the actual tasty goodness that is candy and a sugar rush. Since dessert is my most favorite food in the entire world, I assumed that there would be nothing better than hosting a candy bar at the wedding. However, I can't seem to decide if it would be the most cost effective way to pull off a great decorative splash of color. But it sure would be tasty!!

These are some pictures of a post found on Style Me Pretty this morning. I am officially obsessed. I especially love the brown paper sacks to put the candy in.

I owe it to Julie...

Well, since I haven't posted in a while, I feel that it's time to post something new. Also...I was threatened by Julie that she would take over my blog. (However, I am hoping she will add some new posts!)

So, here's a wedding that I found on Style Me Pretty over the weekend and I'm in love. I especially love the pink and black and that they took a picture in front of City Hall.

I hope you enjoy!

The Invitations

So, I've been really depressed since I started planning the wedding about all the extravagant things I want that I can't afford. Well, I think I've figured out the perfect solution for the invitations. I've wanted custom, extravagant invitations that have the wow factor, but haven't been able to find it within my budget. Then I thought that I would design my own invites...but that takes ALOT of work. And I don't think that I can create the design that I would really love to have.

Then I stumbled onto an etsy page that had me floored. You purchase the digital custom design of anything from a monogram to a full invitation suite and map/directions. I'm. in. love.

Here's the link to Belletristics blog! And below are some of the designs from her etsy site. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!! Now, I only have to decide on a design....

Creating the intimate setting - with Candles!

One of the things that I really want to convey at the wedding is an intimate, authentic, romantic feel. One of the best ways to do it is through the use of candles. But there is definitely a way to go overboard with them or make them cheesy. I was watching TLC's new show Wedded to Perfection and they design the most uh-mazing 'over the top' weddings I've ever seen. ever.

One of the weddings they hosted included lots of candles, especially on the entry steps of the New York Public Library. They used small, clear candle holders, much like the ones you can find at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 price. (I think the ones on the steps run about 1.50-2.50 on sale) I am inspired. Lets see if I can incorporate these into my wedding.

By the way, we are officially only 8 months away!! I'm so excited!!!

the Bolero...

So, I'm so excited that the wedding is only about 8 months away...This sounds like FOREVER...but I know it won't be long!! And more than the wedding, I'm just excited about Mr. Fabulous and I being in the same town again!! Woohoo.

When the mom and I went to look at the reception venue back in March, it was one of those freakishly cold days where the wind was flying around at 50 mph and it was just dark and dreary and about 40 degrees. So, that is about what I"m expecting for the wedding. And a few flurries to add to the ambiance would be nice...

Now, I'm sure this isn't what I'm supposed to be talking about when Summer is here, but I'm just dreaming. With that being said...it's going to be very cold with a strapless dress in January -- so should I opt for the bolero jacket look, or just go without and wear his jacket by the end of the night??

Luncheon Table Setting

So, I'm always on the lookout for great ideas for a luncheon. Whether it be for a work lunch, ladies lunch, or a shower luncheon...this idea would be great.

Click the picture for more information on how to create this great look. Its from the ladies at casasugar.com

Blogspiration

It's gone. I have no inspiration today. It's terrible. Hopefully I will have something for tomorrow.

As for me...I need to catch up on sleep, laundry, and cleaning. That's my focus today.

However, over the weekend, I tried on wedding dresses, and I MAY have found the winner!! And we picked out our wedding rings yesterday! YAY!!

Ultra Fabulous Photographer

Well, when Mr. Fabulous and I were first discussing the date of the wedding he knew one thing from me...no summer. However, I have huge crushes on all other seasonal weddings. If I had the chance to get married in March-May, I would most definitely go with a bright green, white, and black color scheme. I discovered today on the Chic Florals & Events blog (which is one of my favorites) a beautiful, classy wedding with these colors. So, I decided to forward on some of the great pictures from it! Enjoy! The photography was done by Sweet Monday Photography.

Plus, they did day after portraits in front of this fabulous pink wall. I'm not sure it could get much better than this!

Blogspiration

Well, Sorry for the lack of blogspiration yesterday. I've been struggling to find great inspiration. However, I am super excited about this holiday weekend, and wanted to kick off a great day of blogging with this fabulous recipe. Its from the blog of sweet paul and its a Tiramisu ice cream. I am totally ready for summer, and this treat makes me want this holiday to come even faster.

Because it is the day before a holiday, I will be posting alot today!! Keep checking back!

Please let me know if you see anything fabulous and let me know. I'd love to 'feature' it on the blog ;). Just e-mail me at jordan_b_jones@yahoo.com

RunPee.com

Well, I am definitely the girl that orders popcorn and a HUGE Diet Coke at the movie theater. But you don't think about how many times you will have to go to the bathroom when you order it!!

So, I'm super excited that this website exists. It's called RunPee.com. It tells you the best time in the movie for a potty break.

I love this. Check out their website here!!

Pink Headband - and other ramblings

Well, in my quest for all things fabulous, I stumbled upon this great headband from etsy. It channels Katy Perry and Blair Waldorf all at the same time! Yes! I think I could totally rock it...

And on a lighter note, I tried Pizza Hut's Pastas today....and on a scale of 1-10, I give a lasagna/meaty marinara a 5, and the chicken alfredo a 7. Plus, it comes with breadsticks. I'll give you the full review tomorrow after Sara and I have it again for dinner tonight. You know its a great food after you re-heat it. hah.

I know I talk about all things fabulous on here, and I think a fabulous attitude is one of the most important things ever. Here in my office, I truly like everyone here. But, I feel that some of them don't enjoy life anymore. I learned that a simple question such as 'how has your day been going' can make a huge difference in someone's life. A smile and authenticity can go a long way. At the end of the conversation, she seemed so happy, and said "thanks for asking," as if most people don't even ask her the time of day.

Now, normally I spend my time talking about weddings and expensive shoes, but today - please go out of your way to genuinely ask someone about their day. It can speak volumes for your character and your witness.

(by the way, I looked for a really good picture to go with this message...nope. they were all cheesy. dangit)

Thats all for now! Toodles!

Lauren Conrad Wrote A Book!!!

Well, as most of you know, I have a huge girl-crush on Lauren Conrad. I want her hair, and her wardrobe, and maybe her bank account. Either way, she's adorable.

She totally has written a book!! I'm impressed. HERE is the link to the excerpt. Can she write, or should she stick to fashion??

I think I'd read it...

The Color Palette

So, while taking my daily trip to Style Me Pretty, I found a post that talks about one cohesive color scheme, and in this instance, purple. They loved the purples, but they infused different shades of the color, and it worked so well. In this case, each bridesmaid had a different bouquet. I think this idea is awesome!! How cool would it be if everyone had different bouquets...

What do you think, love it or hate it?

AAANNNNDDDDD...I'm going to try on wedding dresses!! Next Monday!! Soo excited. I officially have an appointment and everything! And while I'm still in the pink vs. purple debate, I think I'm finally deciding on a route and I have the bridesmaids dresses picked out. But I'm going to wait and reveal all that after I try on dresses.

However, if you want answers sooner, you can always bribe me with one my favorite etsy products!!

The Tiffany Cake

So, I ran across a 'couture' wedding cake strait from Oklahoma. And I think it went strait to any girl who has ever seen Breakfast at Tiffanys....

It Exists!!

For anyone who has ever questioned the existence of Telephone, TX, Here's proof!!

Follow THIS link to see downtown Telephone, and it just so happens that the place its at is the rehearsal dinner site!!

So....

I really, really, really, really really want these....
And these....

And I found them on this website where they only cost about $275. The question is, is it legit???

Mockingbird Bridal SAMPLE SALE

So I'm super excited to announce that next MONDAY I am officially going wedding dress shopping. And I found out that there is a Sample Sale at Mockingbird Bridal ON Memorial Day. YESSSS!

If there are any other places you think I should go to, please let me know!!

And, for all of those who know me, and how picky at EVERYTHING I am...please keep me in your prayers. And pray for the sanity of the mom and the sister. It's going to be a rough, long day for them.

Now, I'm not sure if I can fit into a Sample dress, because they are normally in 6-8-10, and i'm not any of those...I will be rediculously strict with my diet this week. I love encouragement!!

Okay, enough exclamations for this post, more later!

Etsy-spiration

Well, I promised last week that I would share all my new favorite items from Etsy.com. It is officially my new favorite website. (I think I've said that 3 times.)

Either way, here they are!! (click the pictures for the link.)

Okay, Seriously, this quote is uh-mazing. I would love to place this in my closet above my shoe rack. It would be very Carrie Bradshaw-esque. Love. It.

I think its really important to find a way to remember the wedding day and the words that you say to your new husband/wife on that day. Or even for a great anniversary gift. I love this bowl. It could be placed in any room of the house, just to remind yourself daily to live the vows you said.
I feel that I could be houseWIFE of the year in this. Plus I think it would make a great gift for bridesmaids, or Emily.

I was told that save the dates are a waste of money. However, looking at this save the date, I really want to order them and use them as our save the date. Even if I take a more basic invitation style, I think these could be the perfect contrast to the invitation and the January nuptials.

As most of you know, I'm OBSESSED with monograms. I want my own custom monogram for the wedding, and I think they are just amazing. I love that they can etch your custom monogram onto a necklace to wear. I would wear this every day!! Soooo classy!!

I love my sister, and I love that she's obsessed with zebra prints. Even though I told her there was no way that she could wear a zebra dress to my wedding. (she's tried many, many, many times to talk me into it) I think it would be really girly/awesome/a little sexy to rock a zebra/pink garter under the ultra classic gown I will be wearing... :)

And last, but certainly not least, I love this necklace too. I think this could be a great bridesmaid gift or a shower hostess gift.

On a random note, my friend Julie had on the coolest shirt in the WHOLE world when I got to spend some time with her on Saturday night...it was purchased on etsy, and I wanted to share, just in case any MOH/MOB/family member/blog reader/bridesmaid wanted to purchase it for me!! ;)

And yes, there is a MOH shirt as well as bridesmaids ones. HAHA, I love this.

That's all for now...more blogspiration to come later!!!
