The Great Wedding Shoe Debate

this blog is brought to you by Julie.
How many wedding shoe options does one bride-to-be need? In my case, that would be 3. And I fully intend to wear all 3 pairs at some point on my wedding day. Why, you ask? Because: 1) Some people have 3 dresses, I'm choosing only 1 (very reasonably priced thankyouverymuch) dress, so why not have multiple shoe options; 2) They are all so freaking cute, I can't imagine NOT wearing any of them; 3) I'm the bride.

Behold the cuteness:

Option 1 (my original dream shoes):

(swoon)
Pros: They are very similar to the Manolo's Carrie Bradshaw wore in Sex & the City. I l-o-v-e them.
Cons: Although they are dang cute, they aren't the most comfortable of shoes, which normally wouldn't bother me, but I would like for my feet to not be throbbing on my wedding day.
Role in the wedding: These will be worn maybe in some pre-wedding pics, perhaps to the rehearsal dinner...who knows...but they WILL be worn.

Option 2 (everything I didn't know I loved):

Oh how I love you, Max Studio.
Pros: They are adorable, make me just the right height, and are oh-so-comfortable (bonus!)
Cons: They aren't pink, but I'm OK with that.
Role in the wedding: These will be worn for the remaining pre-ceremony pics, and throughout the ceremony as well as during our reception entrance and first dance (probably).

Option 3 (off and on):

Get this party started.
Pros: Hello...gold. sparkle. flats! And, if that's not enough, they come in their own gold sparkle bag. Steve Madden, you? Are a genius.
Cons: None.
Role in the wedding: These are my dancing shoes, duh! WHOOHOO!

Now do you see why a girl needs 3 shoe options?

His and Hers Sheets

This is one of those things that made me laugh out loud when I found it. His and Hers sheets. I think its a genius idea!! The set is a little pricey, with a $69.99 price tag. But I think these would be a great way to keep the peace when you are sleeping next to a bed hog.

I'd buy it. Would you?

The Candy Bar

This is where eye candy meets the actual tasty goodness that is candy and a sugar rush. Since dessert is my most favorite food in the entire world, I assumed that there would be nothing better than hosting a candy bar at the wedding. However, I can't seem to decide if it would be the most cost effective way to pull off a great decorative splash of color. But it sure would be tasty!!

These are some pictures of a post found on Style Me Pretty this morning. I am officially obsessed. I especially love the brown paper sacks to put the candy in.

I owe it to Julie...

Well, since I haven't posted in a while, I feel that it's time to post something new. Also...I was threatened by Julie that she would take over my blog. (However, I am hoping she will add some new posts!)

So, here's a wedding that I found on Style Me Pretty over the weekend and I'm in love. I especially love the pink and black and that they took a picture in front of City Hall.

I hope you enjoy!

The Invitations

So, I've been really depressed since I started planning the wedding about all the extravagant things I want that I can't afford. Well, I think I've figured out the perfect solution for the invitations. I've wanted custom, extravagant invitations that have the wow factor, but haven't been able to find it within my budget. Then I thought that I would design my own invites...but that takes ALOT of work. And I don't think that I can create the design that I would really love to have.

Then I stumbled onto an etsy page that had me floored. You purchase the digital custom design of anything from a monogram to a full invitation suite and map/directions. I'm. in. love.

Here's the link to Belletristics blog! And below are some of the designs from her etsy site. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!! Now, I only have to decide on a design....

Creating the intimate setting - with Candles!

One of the things that I really want to convey at the wedding is an intimate, authentic, romantic feel. One of the best ways to do it is through the use of candles. But there is definitely a way to go overboard with them or make them cheesy. I was watching TLC's new show Wedded to Perfection and they design the most uh-mazing 'over the top' weddings I've ever seen. ever.

One of the weddings they hosted included lots of candles, especially on the entry steps of the New York Public Library. They used small, clear candle holders, much like the ones you can find at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 price. (I think the ones on the steps run about 1.50-2.50 on sale) I am inspired. Lets see if I can incorporate these into my wedding.

By the way, we are officially only 8 months away!! I'm so excited!!!
